The wife factor

Actually the receiver is for the bedroom Hence the need for new speakers!!! I'm getting some M-1's for the bedroom (probably not getting a sub) and sticking with my receiver in the main-room until either Rotel comes out with a unit that suits my needs, or I get the o.k. to spend the cash necessary to get the mono-blocks/pre-pro

Got a Marantz SR5001, I've auditioned it, and other than the sound, It has another similarity to my 7001 (that I'm still using) in the fact that it's not "TOO" big, because after-all, it's gotta find a home in our bedroom!

I was going to be running the speaker-wires in the walls, and wall mounting the speakers etc, but it looks like we're putting a LOT more serious consideration into buying a new home, so I think I'll wait to find out what is going on with all of that before I start chewing up the walls. (we've been walking through an average of 5 or 6 houses a week now!)

5 or 6. You and/or your wife must be picky.

I'm familiar with it.

I wouldn't limit myself to Rotel, however. There are a number of interesting pre/pro's in the works which will handle HDMI audio and the lossless codecs. The Integra looks to be the "budget" solution for some time to come.

Thanks for the link/advice. I was thinking actually of the Rotel AVR if I decided to NOT go separates...... (or if the WIFE decided I wasn't going separates!!!!)
