"I was amazed at how precise and clear the dialogue sounded. Minute nuance within the track was easily discernible. This made whispered words, the whisking of hair, the soft jingle of jewelry or the touching of another’s face clearly heard. Normally we tend to attribute reference quality audio to action based films. This film definitely does not fall into that category but this mix could easily be used to demonstrate the positive attributes of any surround sound system.

Just watched this last night and wow, the PQ is stunning!! Like the reviews mention, even if the movie isn't your cup of tea, at least rent the disc to see the PQ. It's great example of how good a blu-ray movie can look. BTW, it was my first "Bollywood" movie but I enjoyed it. One of the reviews mentioned it being kind of like Moulin Rouge and I agree with that. If you like that one, give this one a shot but even if you don't, at least checkout the disc (for PQ/SQ). Can't imagine anyone being disappointed in that regard.

Visually, this disc is beautiful, arguably the finest to hit Blu-ray yet. Sonically, the disc is a standout amongst its peers, one of the finest available. The extras are sparse and repetitive, the only major downside of the disc. Whether Indian musicals are your thing are not, every Blu-ray fan owes it to themselves to at least rent this film to take in its amazing visuals, and it looks and sounds so good I am confident many fans will want to add this disc to their collections for demo purposes, not to mention the fairly good movie contained thereon. Recommended.

'Saawariya' is a visually sumptuous film, with production design and photography not only on par with the most beautiful of recent American movies, but boasting images that are as fantastic as any I've seen in any motion picture. This 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 Blu-ray encode easily does the film justice -- which is saying a great deal -- as this is a truly sensational, demo-worthy transfer.

This Blu-ray is a must-see, if only to witness a transfer that is such a five-star delight (and the audio is no slouch, either). I wish the supplements hadn't been so lackluster, but 'Saawariya' is at least worth a rental, just to see how stunning a Blu-ray can look.

ITs a Sony released title so i assume it was almost guranteed a transfer like it's Hollywood counterparts like POTC

Just hope future released titles from independent bollywood studios like Eros, Yash Raj etc all follow suit in the standard now set for all future bollywood releases to match

This is why I love this forum!!!! I had no knowledge of this film, and my wife has been driving me nuts because I keep making her watch 2001, Close Encounters, Blade-Runner, TWBB, NCFOM, etc etc.... and he "27 dresses" is VERY LONG WAIT on netflix.....

This is now on the top of the list.... my wife will be in for a pleasant surprise when she sees I got a foreign film that I haven't talked about, and she didn't tell me about, and all in time for Mother's Day!!!!!
