Playstation Store Suspended For Maintenance - Now Back Online - Blu-ray Forum

I just got COD4 today, and have played a few single player maps and it is beautiful, i tried to go on multiplayer but when i try to sign on to the network it says that the playstation network is suspended.

I looked at the Playstation forums and the guys were saying that sometimes this happens when they are working on the playstation network\store. Has anyone else ever gotten this message?

Hopefully they're preparing for a little something. Usually happens before a SS update.

Ah thanks guys. I see the network is down...I guess too many people are trying to play COD4 online

Of course, when the network goes down, it usually sparks rumors of some store or firmware update.

*hint hint* Ugh...done those rumors...

it would be funny if cod4 was too much for there servers

also not good because not many people even have a ps3

CoD4's peer-to-peer isn't it? I doubt there's a huge number more people signed into the PSN than when another big title like R&C Future was released.

almost all the servers are dedicated

there is no option to host a public room only private

Store is DOWN. Game play not effected.

Do SCEA even run servers for third-party games? There's no reason that would bring the whole network down.

As more PSN accounts are made (or the simultaneous users at peak hours goes up) they'll scale up the account login servers to cope.

no no

the servers are on Activison, but sony does help because it uses your friends built into your PSN name

i hope so because i cant wait for home, but i also dont want it to bog down everything
