Default Just ordered a new receiver...

Just ordered the Onkyo TX-SR805 for $589.98 from ecost.com, including shipping. Really excited to hear the loseless audio. Anyone have suggestions on movies with spectacular sound? Anyone got any pics of their 805?

Get Live Free or Die Hard. The best DTS-HD MA soundtrack I've heard out of hundreds of titles.

They would charge me 8.675 percent sales tax (I'm in NYS).

Try The Fifth Element. Don't forget about existing DTS Bombs on certain DTS HDMA titles. Get the up-date for your Onkyo first, so you don't blow out your eardrums or speakers.

One closed DTS bomb thread just leads to a new one opened.

I don't think so, unless you know something I don't?(http://www.6ave.com/Shop/product.aspx?sku=ONKTXSR805B)

I am gonna have to do a search and find out where and how to get this update onto the Onkyo when I get it. Thanks for the movie recommendations too. I have quite the lineup going with Netflix now.

Try I, robot. It's the most impressive I've heard since getting my 805. Also try Live Free or Die Hard (as mentioned earlier) and Mr and Mrs Smith.

They are an authorized dealer, so I hope all is well. They shipped it a little while ago, just got an email. Should be here on Thursday. Will let you guys know how it turns out. Thanks for all the movie recommendations too. I also got the DSP update downloaded and the instructions. Thanks for the heads up Marcus!

How do you get it for $620? When I go there it says its $662 and shipping is in the $30's, and they are out of stock.

The Fifth Element is on right now on TBS HD, sounds pretty good, can't wait for it in uncompressed! Should be amazing!

I would very highly recommend this on BD. PQ and SQ is reference material. Don't go by the HD TV version. BD blows this away on both counts.

Highly recommended for PQ and SQ:

1. The fifth element.
2. Underworld.
3. The Patriot.
4. Resident Evil Movies.
5. 30 days of night.
6. 3:10 to Yuma.
7. Casino Royale

Use the search function for threads containing member's best PQ and SQ disks.

e-cost is a subsidiary of PCmall/MacMall. I've ordered several items from both including my current (old) receiver, Denon AVR-3300. They are authorized by Denon and others to sell refurb products. You could not tell that my receiver was a refurb and I saved alot of money.

I've never had to deal with their customer service, so i can't comment there.

Let us know how it goes.

I have one more question, I have an XM tuner in my car, is there anyway to bring it in the house and hook it up to the Onkyo receiver or do I need some adapter cables?

The Onkyo 805 has the connection for either XM or Sirius in the back of the unit. You may have to buy a cable to connect your tuner if your sat radio did not come with one.
