Default "The Good Shepherd" on Blu-ray this autumn in Europe

DFW (Dutch Film Works) will start releasing movies in Belgium and the Netherlands on both Hi-Def formats this fall. The first release will be "The Good Shepherd" which will be available both on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray this fall. DFW has the distribution rights from this Universal Pictures release for the Benelux countries.
DFW says it's too early to chose one format for Hi-Def contents and has decided to release their initial titles on both formats.

I watched this last night. It was ok, but for a Deniro flick I expected a WHOLE LOT more than what it was.

OMG, my wife and I thought we were going to enjoy this film. The previews looked all right and all. How wrong we were. Watching this movie from beginning to end felt like a chore.

Might be worth picking up The Aviator. We'll see how it compares to ours.

They aren't. This thread started in June 2007. Post 12 is recent and refers to their latest batch of movies being Blu-ray only.

They used to release HD-DVD together with the blu-ray counterpart but since the death of the HD-DVD format Dutch FilmWorks won't release in it anymore.
From now on every announcement is Blu-Ray.

I'm curious to see what the quality of this batch is as well, I will be picking up The Aviator, The Grudge, Saw 4 , Michael Clayton and Earth.
When released I will give some insight into the discs over here

Is there any way for you to compare them to the US counterparts?

I know a lot of people complained about the sound options on The Aviator...so this might alleviate that.

Well The Aviator, Michael Clayton and Saw 4 I can compare to the US counterparts but I think sound will be different in the case of Aviator and Michael Clayton since they don't have lossless sound on the US versions.

I see the Dolby tracks on The Aviator and Michael Clayton are 640 Kbps and got mild scores on reviews.
Will be quite interesting to hear if the DTS-HD Master Audio tracks will be better for both releases.

I'm expecting Michael Clayton by the end of April and The Aviator at the end of May but will keep you posted.
