hi,
i bought a laptop from a UK-based company, meshcomputers. im located in UK too, yet... this laptop does not play my Region B (uk) blu-rays. "This movie is coded to Region B region, and will not play on this drive" something like that pops up. how can i fix it? pointless me having a blu-ray drive if it doesnt play any of my movies... |

i found an option in my software 'acer arcade' that allowed me to change it to region B.
gave me only 5 attempts and now ive used one. but so far, everything.... (the ones ive tried) all work. |

Yeah - you need to set the region code initially - and on some drives / software that even means doing this in device mangler. Probably a matter of time before the region-free firmware hacks start appearing - but in the meantime, stick with your region...

Yes, Blu-ray regions are set in the player software.
