Most of the reviews I've read have been pretty favorable... on par with Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle.

The box art look like Sony Artwork so i guess it will be either PCM or TrueHD

According to the imdb, Sony is one of the production partners and the worldwide distributor. I would imagine that the Blu-Ray will be on par with most of their newest Blu-Rays.

It appears to be a little like a Lilo & Stitch live action movie. A single, poor father of a little boy discovers CJ7 in a junkyard while he's looking for a toy for his kid. Father thinks CJ7 is a toy, he's in fact an alien. Hilarity ensues. Take a look at the trailer linked in a response earlier in this thread.

i'm a big fan of stephen chow, but damn that's a steep price for a bd. i'll wait for the u.s. version. i think it's still in theaters here.

I want to buy this but I'm concerned about the english subtitle because the hong kong release usually has mediocre subtitle filled with bad grammar and typos. So I guess I'll hold out for the US release. It better comes out soon!

Not for Asian releases. This is where Sony often lock it to a specific region.

Just saw the trailer on "Nothing But Trailers" this morning. Looks pretty good.

The trailers looked really funny, but $37 for a 84 Min movie.... ugh! I don't know, that's a bit much!!

Any word on a re-release of Kung Fu Hustle??
