More Metal Gear, No Solid Snake

i don't get why people are saying this, the last time that we played as solid snake was the vey beginning of MGS 2. 90% of the MGS series for PS2 you were in control of people other than solid snake.

Its not going to be the same though, and i wanted them to close out the series as a whole, like i thought they were going to do.

pesonally, i am salivating for more MGS even after 4. Id love to see a MGS placed in a WW2 setting explaining the stories of The Joy and The Sorrow or (and Im sure this will be explained) the stories of the formation of The Philophers.

Your using one console to back up your statement? Not very convincing.

Metal gear started WAY back before PS1 and the main character was..*drum roll* Solid Snake !

Metal Gear = NES = Main Character = Solid Snake
Metal Gear 2 = NES = Main Character = Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid 1 = PS1 = Main Character = Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid 2 = PS2 = Main Character = Raiden
Metal Gear Solid 3 = PS2 = Main Character = Naked Snake
Metal Gear Solid 4 = PS3 = Main Character = Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops = PSP = Main Character = Naked Snake

That's 4 times we played as Solid Snake, 1 time we played as Raiden, and 2 times we played as Naked Snake/Big Boss (If you really want to include the PSP version, and I did not include Metal Gear Ac!d, which Solid Snake plays the main character.)

Haha yeah!

Metal Gear 2 on the NES had very similar events as Metal Gear Solid on the PS1.
But the 2D and the 3D make all the difference.

I said Metal Gear was on the NES and then I stated Metal Gear Solid was on the PS1!

Metal Gear first started on the MSX home computer NOT the NES. What the NES got was an inferior port of the first one. It never had the second one(MG2: Solid Snake)either,just a non-canonical sequel "Snake's Revenge" that Kojima was not involved with.

More Metal Gear Coming?

According to Payton, "I think there's been some misconceptions that this is the last 'Metal Gear.' This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake Story." While Payton doesn't mention what direction the series could take without its iconic character, it does add some additional validity to an interview we did with Hideo Kojima where he mentioned having different ideas related to the Metal Gear universe that may or may not include Snake.

Pretty much the same thing here. Funny how they announce this now though.

MSX2 version was released in Japan only and then ported to the NES which how it was made worldwide I believe. (Yes the MSX was worldwide but not popular at ALL in North America, as well, MG was released in Japan)

And MG2: Solid Snake was on the MSX2 as well (only in Japan) and it Kojima was involved. Snake's Revenge was developed by Konami but you are right, Kojima was not involved.

Snakes Revenge sadly was my first metal gear game to own.

I never quite made sence of that one... got near the end killed the
boss and I always ended up running out of time inside a glitch.

So the Snake in MGS3 isn't Solid Snake? I didn't know that and I've played it. Well most of it.

The Snake in MGS3 is Naked Snake aka Big Boss. Father of Solid Snake.
Or rather Solid Snake was cloned from him.
