Default seinfeld dvd box set or individual cases ?

Have an opportunity to get the Seinfeld complete DVD series for 45 dollars. But I'm not sure if I should do that or just get the individual releases which would be about double the price but I'm a little worried about the scratching than can be caused by the cardboard packaging for the complete series, any suggestions?

It's in the blu-ray section, you're asking about the DVD

But to answer your question, $45 for the complete series? Do it, no question. The individual releases are not so wonderful on their own that it's worth passing up, I have the complete series package and it's been great.

I bought the complete series earlier this year, and the packaging is absolutely terrible. Several of my discs were scratched up, and a few of them had some glue residue on them.

If you want the bonus disc, then you should get the Complete Series set.

What's on the bonus disc? Just curious, as I have all the individual releases already.

If you were living in Toronto, I'd sell you my set, because I recently bought the entire series box and now have no need for the individual sets.
To me I prefer the complete series box, since it's neater to store, does not pick up too much space on my shelves, and I can easily look through all the discs if I'm searching for a particular episode.

ok so let's say you get the individual seasons dirt cheap at $10 each...that's $90...good luck finding them for that price each but to pass on $45 for the complete set out of fear of the unknown is somewhat silly.

I believe you're missing the OP's point. Some of those boxsets save on space by stacking or another horrendous way of storing discs which could lead to damage. The individual seasons are usually safe with discs in separate and secured holders.

I understand completely - do you take a chance spending $50 and hope the discs are unmarred and will stay that way over time, or take the safe route but almost double the price.

I personally prefer box sets, no question, but I understand his/her ordeal.

If it's the same complete series boxset I have, I say go for it each disc has its own spindle. There's no discs rubbing against cardboard.

Appreciate all the comments and I'm kind of ocd about scratches and what not, I have stayed away from the cardboard sleeves so far but for the price this one had me considering it.

Bet you that as soon as you plunk down $100 for the series, on DVD, that the blu-ray versions would be announced by Sony, and retail for about $80!

This never fails with me, everytime.....!

you contradict yourself by saying you believe I'm missing the point (which I am not as I understand the OP point of fear of damage/storage), then saying you completely understand.

You probably have this one. The newer version is in book with sleeves.
