USA Titles with better artwork on international releases.

Sorry if there's already a similar thread for this. Please merge if so.

Just wanted to discuss the differences in overseas releases when it comes to artwork. The majority of the time, they get something a lot better than what we end up with. Case in point; The Skeleton Key. Compare the US' jumbled mess to the classy artwork the Aussie release got, taking after the original one-sheet.

Anyone else spotted others?

Well obviously steelbooks from other countries frequently have better artwork than US releases. But as far as standard releases, Gladiator had some international editions with some pretty cool artwork compared to the US release. All three are nice though.

Speaking of steels, the one on the right from Japan is just incredible.

You look at the artwork on Blu ray case more than watching the movie do you?

No brainer IMO (pun intended) that the artwork on the UK release is better!

If we include steels, I have to throw this one into the mix too (from Taiwan):

Almost any movie released by Arrow in the UK has better cover art than any other edition. They clearly set the international standard for proper art on a Blu-ray cover.

The US versions of Drive and John Carter look worse than any other versions I've seen from other countries.

The Canadian steelbooks for those two films looked particularly great. Sad neither had steelbooks in the US.

Usually, they are removable stickers.

I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would have to disagree with almost everybody's opinions - except Gladiator.

That being said, I like the steelbooks for Star Trek Into Darkness from the UK, China, and Holland, compared to the ones in North America.

What? I've got plenty of imports but never saw a removable sticker.

On the steelbooks most tend to be removable in my experience.

This one probably irks me more than any other for the simple reason that this is one of my favorite movies and the cover of the DVD was the same as the UK cover. It was one of the all time coolest covers IMO...when I saw the US blu cover I was shattered. Thrilled to have it in HD but the artwork was tough for me to swallow.

Just about any blu-ray release that isn't from the US has better artwork.
