Again, Josh "beats me to the punch". I guess that's why he's a mod!

Sooooo many things on my list here. "The Fly", "Bridge Too Far", "Dude, Where's My Car " , "Master and Commander", "Predator", the list goes on and on!

I'm freaking out!

These are all mine on release day! Anyone want to donate to my BD fund? Hopefully Pirates will be here in early May in time for my birthday, (17th) and I'm glad to finally see a ballpark for iRobot, Independence Day, and Master and Commander.

Since Pirates is being released to coincide with the release of the 3rd movies, I expect Sony to do the same with Spiderman.

We have only seen press releases from Fox, MGM, and Disney. There should still be some on the way (including Sony with a possible Spider-man date - I hope!).

Yeah, ID4 is schlock, but it's a guilty pleasure and you know most of you are going to get it to show off the goods.

That Fox lineup is pretty darned strong considering we're still technically in a format war environment.

That MGM lineup almost got completely bolded by me. That's unbelievably strong, for the most part.

And none of that is ever going to see the light of day on HD-DVD. Just keep that in mind, folks.

Wow!

^^ Most of those titles show you why this format war, such as it is, will be completely wrapped up and done with after this year.

When is Sony announcing their titles? Someone needs to slap them because they need to be the ones putting out the heavy hitters asap.

Agreed.

Keep in mind folks: This is just stuff that's confirmed SO FAR.

We're only in January of a new year.

The BDA's conference is later today, all Major partners/studios will be attending, so more announcements from Sony, Warner and Paramount. Disney and Fox have already done theirs.

Hasn't Warner already announced their intentions to catchup on all of their Blu-ray releases for 2007 and do day and date BD/HD DVD releases in 2007? It would then follow that any announced HD DVD title from Warner will also be a BD release. The same goes for Paramount as they are also 'neutral' and release on both formats and, unlike Warner, seem to optimise their BD releases specifically for the format.

Well news here is that the HD DVD versions Matrix and HP have been sitting in warehouses waiting for the BD counterparts to have the same BD-J experience as the HDi one from HD DVD.

Maybe this means that Warner have now figured BD-J out good and proper and we will see more titles use it from them.

Josh, is that based off their HD DVD press release, or have they sent one out for Blu-ray?

Blu-ray press release. It is posted in the CES Announced Titles thread I am running over at AVS (which I can't link back to right now because their server is being crushed).

See? There is a silverlining that Universal is not on BD's side yet. Think of all the second shift you have to do to get extra cash for all the BD movies.

And that's not counting the HDMI 1.3 receiver with DTS HDMA that you just HAVE to get to pair off with your BD player/PS3!

In other news, male prostitution is on the rise. The reason: Blu-ray!
