Gta4 Versus Mgs4...!!! - Blu-ray Forum

I'm curious to see which one I would like more. At one point, I was sure that I wouldn't buy GTA4, but as I learn more about the game, I'm drooling for it and will probably buy it at some point.

Got my television calibrated via DVE bluray.
Got my DualShock3 ready.
Got the Holidays eventually coming up.

Oh yeah.

I loved GTA IV, but I'm expecting to be blown away by MGS4.

While GTA4 is fun (at first), I think MGS4 will be the more polished game. The controls in GTA4 aren't as responsive as I'd like them to be... which seems to be case in all GTA games.

I'm expecting that, too. The pictures and buzz around MGS4 seem to get better and better as time goes by. I just saw an article from Gamepro today that said that MGS4 will make you feel as if it's a movie rather than a game because the graphics are so detailed. They even said that it has the best audio they've ever heard in a game, ever.

However, I'm having a hunch that GTA4 might be toe to toe with MGS4 because of the type of game that it is.

I noticed that, too. When I first experimented with GTA4, the only thing that felt weird was how his movements weren't as precise as those found in other games. But I'm SO wanting GTA4. I now KNOW that. Aside from that, GTA4 blew me away and blew all my misconptions away, too.

Both, GTA and the MGS series are all new to me.

in my mind theyre in different catagories. havent played mgs4 but im sure it will get a 10 from what ive seen and heard. either way, pick one you win. get done with it, then get the other

MGS4 for me.

Although I have own and beat every single GTA's, it's my least favorite franchise comparing to MGS series.

I have typically liked MGS games more then GTA. MGS is just more of my style. The presentation of MGS1 got me hooked back on PS1. I have high hopes for MGS4.

What is the question? If I will buy both? (Yes) What is the better game? (not the same game type. one is not out, hype is worthless etc.) Which is the PS3 exclusive? (MGS) What will be the higher selling game? (GTA) what game will I like more? (Ask me in about a month, cuzz I dont know reading hype)....... etc.

MGS4 is all over GTA4. I know a lot of people like it but im thinking of selling my copy of GTA4. I just think its boring.

It's really going to depend on the story of MGS4 and how much playing you get to do. If the story isn't crap like MGS2 and if you actually get to PLAY it rather than watch it, then MGS4 will be far superior to GTA4. The graphics and control surely won't even be a comparison....and I think MGS4 at least has the potential to feel less "been there, done that". The problem with the MGS series after MGS1 has always been that Kojima is a wanna-be movie director and tries to shove it into his games.

MGS4 will be better than GTA4 because it will make a serious effort at utilizing the pure power of the PS3 and the BD it comes on. GTA4 is a great game, but i feel that it's been hampered by the multiplatform development. everyone always says what if it had been a PS3 exclusive... i'm excited to see what a true PS3 game is... and that game will be MGS4

MGS4 - So far the only saving grace for GTAIV is the multiplayer which is quite fun. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed it, but if you want me full explanation please read my posts in the GTAIV thread.
