first batch of blu-ray not working on my ps3 - Blu-ray Forum

after the recent updates the first batch of blus dont work for me like RE2, MI2, etc it would get to the main menu and when i press play it would just go black and wont start the movie. newer blu rays work just fine any1 know how to fix this problem

I have RE2, but it is still sealed right now.... it doesnt play??

can you put your copy in real quick and sees if it plays and post up the results thanks

My Resident Evil 2 works flawlessly in my PS3.

Will it load a game? When my 80gb PS3 started with similar symptoms it failed on all BD media but loaded DVD, CD and SACD just fine.

it loads games fine also i just watch RE1 before that it just the 25GB older blu rays

Oh please. This is an isolated case where something must be messed up with his PS3. Plenty of standalones have had much worse firmware-related playback issues than the PS3.

Jimmy, call sony. I know someone whos PS3 would not read any BD-RE (re-writeable blu-ray discs) but would read retail movies/games on blu-ray fine. He sent it in and he got it back in about a week, and the PS3 now reads all discs perfectly.

Definately worth a shot. My friends PS3 did the same thing you were describing, and switching that setting off worked.
