Default Help needed with speaker wire install

I am updating my surround sound, and bought new speaker wire. I must now cut the speaker wire accordingly.

I must also remove the plastic, to expose the coper so I can put it into the the receiver and speaker terminals.

My question is:
How much centimeters/inches of the surrounding plastic must I cut away for an optimal connection?

3/4 of an inch should do good, you want enough for it to establish a good
connection, but not to much that exposed wires might touch each other...

Feel for you bro, had to hook up my 605 last week.....It was well worth it....
But an hour of laying cramped on my side behind my 50'

ive got right around 3/4 of an inch or so connected to my receiver. The wire connected to my speakers is considerably shorter though. Maybe 1/2 in.

3/4 of an inch is for banana plug right?

And the 1/2 inch is for speakers, the terminals that you put the wire in from the side right?

Also better to use terminals on the wire ends.
