Starship Troopers 1 and 3 Blu-rays or the box set

On August 5, Sony will be releasing Starship Troopers and Starship Troopers 3: Marauder on Blu-ray. There is also a box set which contains both films, but also the second Troopers film, Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation, as well. Unfortunately, the box set is the only way to get the 2nd film on Blu-ray. So I have to ask, will anyone be getting Starship Troopers 1 and 3 individually, or will they go for the box set?

Personally, I prefer getting Troopers 1 and 3 individually, but sometimes I'm a completionist, so I might go for the box set (even though the second film wasn't that great). But that's just me.

I'm actually just leaning towards the first movie, never saw the two sequels. Although if I did want the third, I would just grab the box set. Looks nicer on the shelf to have all three films.

Box set! I want watch the roughnecks kick bug ass for approx 5-6 hours total.

I also wish they release Starship troopers roughnecks cgi cartoon series too as extra or extra BD. I believe it was only season 1 and 2?

I'd say it all depends on the quality of 3 whether or not it's worth it. 2 was shot for virtually nothing by Phil Tippett (yes, the same ILM model god who did the SFX for the first one).

I'm hoping that since the writer of the original and Robocop wrote and directed this one, that it'll be a much more satisfying experience. I still wish they wouldn't call it starship troopers

I'll wait for a review of the 3rd since it's straight to Blu/Dvd. 1st one I've got on blu already and 2nd was just horrible.

I like the book. The best movie adaptation of the book is Iron Man.


That said, I like Starship Troopers because it is so lame it has no connection with the book as far as I can tell (outside of a few references such as names and locations)...

Starship Troopers 3 looks like it will be a sequal while "2" did nothing for the franchise... seriously, what the hell did that have to do with anything?


Anyway, I will buy "1" and rent "3" and maybe buy it if it is good.

If I got 3, I'd just get the whole darn thing since I'm a completist as well. (I've only seen the first one, BTW.)

I honestly didn't know that they ever made a 2 and 3. The first one was really just so-so which leaves me no desire to even see the 2nd or 3rd. I won't be picking up any of them.

Wasn't that crazy about the 2nd one and wasn't sure on the 3rd until I saw Jolene Blalock was in it. So, now I'm leaning toward the boxset. Basically, if I get 1 & 3, might as well get 2.

Anyway, really looking forward to seeing how Sony does with Starship Troopers. I'm pretty happy with the import and curious to see if they're able to improve it any.

I have the second on DVD and it isn't very good. I'll pick up the 3rd on blu though.
