It looks like the movement of the mouth does not match up with the sound coming out...is there a way to change this?

First of all Gary, let's post some specs of how you have your set-up. Until you post your specs let's talk about the provider. There are a number of providers having issues with delivering a decent uncompressed signal to your home. Time Warner and Comcast are the two biggest perpetrators of this delivery method. The race to get the most HD channels into the pipeline has caused the provider to degrade the signal to your house. Bandwidth is an obvious issue when adding more HD channels to the line, so in order to get more channels to your set, the cable provider has to compress the signal hence degrading the picture and audio quality.
Fiber optic providers do not compress their signals because fiber optics can relay more information without compression. A fiber optics to the house provider would be your best provider to get your bang for your buck. Some BD players are also having to correct this audio lag issue with updates, which brings me back to my original question. What are your specs and are you using HDMI cabling? |

It's not a problem with TV, only when watching BluRay DVD.
Here's what I have: Samsung LCD 1080p TV Samsung 1500 BluRay Yamaha YSP Sound Projector. The BluRay goes directly into the sound projector via HDMI and then there is a HDMI out to the TV. I'm think the delay on my sound projector needs adjusting. The sound is taking too long to get to me since light travels faster than sound. Gary |

I gotcha. You are probably right about your projector adjustment. I can't speak into that though since I don't a set-up like that.

Gary,
@ 68 deg F sound moves 1129 Ft./ sec. You would have to be sitting at least one block away from your TV to notice lip synch. Your sound projector (processing amplifier) is hooked up the same way a receiver is. The difference in your system is the speakers and amp are all in one box. Lip synch is not an uncommon problem with Samsung players. I had this problem with my BP-P1000 and BP-P1200 unit, and read that some BP-P1400 owners had also had this problem. It’s usually a problem with a cretin movie, and could be fixed by stopping and restating or fast forwarding the movie. If your having this lip synch problems with all of your Blu-ray discs or DVDs then I would think the problem is not your player, and would suspect your sound projector. I think if you were to post this question on the Samsung BD-P1500 thread you will find that you’ll have a larger pool of users, maybe even someone with your same set-up. |
