I forget his name, but his nickname is "Colossus" and apparently he has a glass jaw. I read they wanted to give Kimbo an opponent he could KO in the 1st round because thats what the national audience wants to see.

i'm pumped! I love MMA and even though I feel Kimbo has yet to truly prove himself, theres no doubt he's really exciting to watch.

Kimbo is fighting a guy named James ''Colossus'' Thompson who seems pretty formidable. his record is 14-8-0. he's 6'5 and 265 lbs. should be a good match

I hope so. I think the title bout between Scott Smith and Robbie Lawler will be a great fight.

Yes. I'm a huge MMA fan (although not at all of Kimbo), and the Lawler fight is my most anticipated. I'm hoping for a good fight from Carano as well and hope her time on AG hasnt blown her training regiment. She's had some great fights in EXC and hopefully Saturday will continue that trend. Baroni is always a blast as well.

Gina Carano. And she will be part of the main card on Saturday. I expect her to win easily (given American Gladiators hasnt distracted her too much), I'm calling TKO, round 2. Should be a great night of fights!

Oooookkkk....... SO first match was kind of.. lame? that guy had a serious glass jaw. Did it even last 30 seconds?

So far every fight just seems mismatched. i'm also not VERY familiar with some of these names with the exception of Kimbo, Lawler, smith and Carano. It's good to see Shamrock as one of the commentators though. Hopefully the matches will get better.

Well i think kimbo has alot of conditioning issues, mid way through the second round he could do nothing but lay on the ground and take rabbit punches. Then i knew what ever the hell was wrong with that guys ear was going to pop which it did, which ended the fight. This guy would get slaughtered in a real mma fight in the ufc.

yeah, Kimbo has a lot of potential, but that guy he fought was pretty good, minus that he entered a fight with a cauliflower ear. What the hell was that all about? How do you get something like that before a big match? Regradless once Kimbo got on the ground he was completely winded and out of his element. I really thought he was going to lose. It was all Collossus until he git hit in the ear.

I'm no physician but I'm sure theres some way they could have drained that so it wouldn't be as MUCH as an issue during the fight.

Overall it was pretty good minus the first few bouts. I really enjoyed the brawlfest that Smith and Lawler put on despite the questionable ending. And The Carano/ young match was really good. Youngs face after the second round beatdown was disturbing though.

Normally they just stick it with a needle and suck it out. I doubt they had time, or maybe it was not legal to do between rounds.

Kimbo escaped though, that guy did NOT have the glass jaw that was said earlier in the thread. One of those Kimbo punches would have killed me no problem. That dude tool like 100 of them.

That chick is about as hot as any female I have seen. AND, she is from NEVADA!

im actually kinda upset...did the matches start late? I had to Tivo the fights, and it missed the Kimbo fight.

The lawler fight was great, but I think the doctors at ringside are complete idiots. (I mean, if a guy gets poked in the eye and the rules say he gets five minutes....give the man five minutes!! of course he cant see, he got poked in the eye...but wait till the five minutes is over to make a decision! rediculous)

oh and the chick fight was great...man that one girls face was beeeeeat up.

Trying to find the kimbo fight on the net...not having good luck. anyone know of the video anywhere?

Nice sweep by kimbo from his back! Thompson put up a good fight. And had a great chin. Bad ear though!

also I think EliteXC made the mistake of turning this event into a circus. WTF did they have a dance team and fireworks and all the sideshow BS going on?? I know they were trying to make it entertaining, but it was more like the WWF.

...hopefully they make some changes for next week.
