Default What do you do with your 60gig?

What do you do with all that memory? I guess I'm not seeing the potential of the PS3 in this aspect. Do you guys save music and movies to the hard drive?

Yup, I save music, download movie trailers, game trailers and stuff. I only have 30GB left now.

Oh, and welcome to the forums.

Me as well.

Download trailers and game demos.

Have about 600+ pictures, over 1000 MP3s and abotu 4 hours of HD home videos on it too.

Think I have about 26gb left on mine

Since many games have install options, I usually just keep my videos and music on an external drive. Though, when I move back home in August and get to have my PS3 hooked up to my theater system, I'll probably move at least my music to the PS3's hard drive, so I can finally use the PSP remote option to play my music.

Unless you're a hoarder, incredibly impatient or unable to multitask, 60GB is plenty.

I have a large music collection of old time cds and various other relaxing music, classical music etc..

Videos of various nature, gundam evolve and various other clips and videos from various things.

I keep a good amount of game demos, I never remove a demo unless I have beaten the game it goes to...

I usualy have to remove things, and I have crap loads of pictures of various sources and purposes..

i dont see the point of filling the hard drive with music and pictures when u can just run a media server from your PC

well, with music, the games that do allow for in-game music, need it off the HDD and not from a media server stream.

I have about 5GB left.

10GB parted for another OS
5GB music
>1GB game saves
10GB demos, PSN games
25GB game installs
5GB Movies, Pictures, and Themes

Do you really need all that music on the HDD at once? Can't you just copy over what you need when you're in the mood for it?

I have 4 gigs of music on mine too. Its nice to have it blasting while ur working on the yard or something. and if 2.4 is all that i hope and more, it will make gt5p the best game ever. i would love to listen to my own music while racing.

i have well over 120 GB of music on my puter, yes and it's all legal! I spent a whole weekend dumping all my CD's onto my drive. Therefor the PS3 is not a good place to store my music. My bride bought me a terrabite drive last xmas and there is lotsa room left on that.

Just use it for game installs and saves.

I have a media hub that streams all my vids, pics and music to my TV (6TB and growing). And it's far better than the PS3 (or 360).

talk about a mood killer.

ie on my HDD I have a playlist called "F$#@ tunes". I turn it on to set the mood right, when I got a lady friend over. Now imagine if I was like. Hold on let me copy some songs over to my PS3 HDD to set the mood right, do you think id get any? probably not.

I had to upgrade my hard drive because the 60-gig was full (didn't have enough space to install one of my games).

Space is being used by the following:

demos (probably 5-10 demos that vary in size)
PSN games (several, size varies)
blu-ray games (several and most install part of the game on the hard drive)
game saves (several but small)
game settings (several but small)
CDs (only 6 or 7 CDs though)
Photos (40 or so but they're not very large)
Themes (15 to 20 of them but they're not very large)
Trailers (2 or 3 trailers)

I don't think you'll get any if you start the evening with turning on your gaming console and opening the music folder called "**** tunes" either, to be honest.
