Default Need some help. :(

I finally decided to get a new set-up. I recently ordered the Yamaha 663 because I want to delve into the world of lossless audio. I'm now looking for speakers but I'm in kind of a rut.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a 5.1 setup that could handle lossless audio, and is around $400 (under $400 would be incredible)? Also, my room is not very large at all, so big speakers are not exactly possible. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

if your budget is that low i'd suggest watching the frys ads. my set up has many of the speakers that frys will put on sale periodically and they sound great.

jbl balboa series floor stanting (front channels) - $140 per pair
jbl balboa series center channel (from buy.com) - $50
polk audio r50 floor standing (rear channel) - $100 per pair
velodyne vx-10 subwoofer - $119

$409 total

that was what i upgraded to slowly from my HTIB.

edit: or listen to crackinhedz

well, the Yamaha RX-V663 plays the HD audio.

...the speakers just let you hear it!

The Polk system came today, just waiting for the receiver. Are there any cheap (but rather long) sets of 5 speaker cables that would be good? I was hoping they'd come with them.

Thanks. One last noob question, will I have to but that for every speaker, or will one do the trick for all of them?

That is 100ft., measure off how much you think you need and order that amount. 100ft. is a pretty good amount though.
