Can't really think of anything good that came out this year. I like Drive for the soundtrack mostly. I haven't bought any of the catalog boxsets yet.

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA deluxe set is the best release of the year, imo. The film is brilliant, the transfer near-perfect, the extras are plentiful and good and the box is a model of a Gift set: sturdy, attractive packaging holding the discs, a well-produced book and a film cell. Nothing too gimmicky or childish. Brilliant stuff.

The worst are the ones that could have been brilliant but fell short thanks to cheapness/ incompetence: the Hitchcock and Bond sets, the UK Hammer movies.

There were almost too many great Blu-ray releases this year, and we still have a month and a half left.

Lawrence of Arabia
Jaws
Indiana Jones
Little Shop of Horrors
Prometheus
Drive
In the Mood for Love
Rosemary's Baby
Rashomon
The Terminator (remaster)

Those are just ten off the top of my head.

Being the animation collector I will say second volume of Looney Tunes, it is too soon to tell about Nemo but it will get an awesome release

Lots of great picks in here. One I have not seen mentioned that I absolutely loved on DVD and is even better on blu ray is Peter Gabriel Secret World........HUGE PQ upgrade and the AQ has been bumped up a notch as well.
