Also, because it is terrible. I would like the first two on blu-ray, no doubt, but man, I am staying as far away from the third one as I can. While Famke Janssen in HD would be nice, I can wait until something else of hers sees a blu-ray release.

I too would like the first 2 Xmen movies. It will come eventually. The 3rd one is decent, sure hope when the other 2 come out they are available as separates as well as a box set. Don't want to have to buy the 3rd one again just to get the first two.

Oh, just for the record, the first 2 are far superior to the last installment.

I'll buy X-men 3 on Blu-Ray when Bryan Singer directs it. I can't wait until the only 2 X-men movies come to Blu-Ray.

Blu-Ray wasn't even a known word, when the first was released.
Besides, the second and (arguably) the third are superior. I liked the first one, only in the theater because I waited my whole life for the X-Men to commit to celluloid immortality. Really, though, the only X-Films with a quality story are the second and third. Say what you will about the third movie's ultra-departure from the original material, but the story was still interesting and they killed-off characters Marvel should have let stay dead any one of the several times they killed each of them. It took Grant Morrisson to redeem Cyclops, Phoenix and the Professor, in the comics and that redemption, even, only lasted his 3-4 year run. So . . . I guess what I'm saying is that the only reason the first movie is of any value is for the sake of continuity. If you really think about it, watching a movie for continuity's sake is worth sacrificing a little quality isn't it? The first movie most likely isn't anybody's favourite, so why don't we all just deal with watching the upscaled version of the dvd on our Blu-Ray players? I think we can all probably live with it. The cinematography is really amateurish, anyway - like most Bryan Singer movies - so, it isn't like it's a thrill to look at. Right? Instead of complaining about not having the first X-Film on Blu-Ray, why don't we just march a circle around Fox Studios for 40 days and nights, blowing our horns, until they decide to redo the franchise, like they did with The Hulk? |
