Default What are the most underrated disney movies?

We know many famous Disney animated movies like "Snow White", "The Little Mermaid", "Pinocchio", "Beauty and The Beast" and "The Lion King". But what Disney animated movies do you enjoy that don't get much respect?

For me:

Emperor's New Groove.
Mulan.
A Bug's Life.
Great Mouse Detective.
Aristocats.
Sword and the Stone.
Hercules.
Oliver and Company. (Saw this in theaters when i was 6 back in 1988 twice, oh memories!)
Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. (Best of the Package movies)
Robin Hood.

Underrated titles?? I'll have to say

Pete's Dragon
The Rescuer's
&
The (original) Shaggy D.A.

But in all honestly it would be a much longer list.

Me, I've been known to make people who can't think up their own jokes actually sit down and watch "Treasure Planet" and "Home on the Range" as a DARE...They think.

I call it a public service, being on the Anti-Defamation League for both films.
(I will, however, draw the line at "Atlantis", as there's a film nobody could like... )

Heck yeah it's underrated. Not only did this movie spawn a hit video game (or was it the other way around? I can't remember), but it is the only movie ever to personify computer programs (software)!!! While by today's standards its special effects are laughable, and the Star Trek-like disassembly of a human into electromagnetic waves which are then transmitted and reassembled somewhere else is almost cliche, it stands as one of the best examples of movie innovation.

It also has a decent story line and good acting. The graphics, however, are pretty cheesy, and I don't know if it would make a good BD. It is very old.

Now if you wanted to make it a BD-Live disc in which you could actually enter the movie and "BE" one of the characters, like an avatar in a game, now that would be awesome. Disney, are you listening? It could be re-released with upgraded animation and graphics. Put in a 7.1 HD audio track, and it might do better than anyone might expect.

Yes, I vote TRON. BTW, TRON is from the BASIC programming language and is the command for TRace ON. This was used for troubleshooting or debugging programs, hence the premise of the movie.

I third Emperor's New Groove. Patrick Warburton's voice was made for cartoons and this one was great.

I really liked Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The voice acting was great, it was a compleat story, and had some of the best hand drawn backgrounds ever.

The main problem was it was too adult of a movie for the kids who many thought were the target audience.

I was just thinking Sword and Ichabod as well, they have always been two of my favorites and I feel they don't get the recognition they deserve. Both were animated by Don Bluth correct, along with a lot of the others you named? He made a lot of wonderful Disney staples.

I'm not sure if it is underrated or not, but my all time favorite is Robin Hood.

The Black Cauldron
The Black Hole
Atlantis
The Sword in the Stone
The Rescuers Down Under

Song of the South - simply because of the ridiculous "controversy" surrounding the film.

I'd have to vote for "The Black Cauldron" and "Song of the South" as well.
