Tiger Woods 09 - Blu-ray Forum

I was in Target last night and was shocked to see Tiger Woods 09 there. I did not realize it was time for that to come out. I have not seen any press on it.

I did not like the 08 versions felt 07 was better.....

anyone get 09 yet? how does it compare to the last 2

was released yesterday, i am waiting til the xmas sales when they do a price cut sale on it. Have 08 for the wii which is a bit more fun

I rented 07 but didn't buy it because 08 was coming out. Then I tried the demo of 08 and didn't like it because the controls were way too touchy. I liked the 09 demo and so I finally bought my first TW game yesterday. I think the controls are much more forgiving than 08 and the graphics look pretty darn good. The commentary is brutal but overall this is really fun to play coming from someone who has never been big on golf games.

This game is an improvement from the previous versions. I am not sure if it's me, but the game seems really polished. Every feel of the game is smooth and the gameplay is great. The commentary is a little better this year IMO. one male one female voice. The graphics are great in this years game. Overall I would give it a 9.5. I played it for a few hours last night and could not stop playing it! lol I think golfers will love this game and maybe a few non-golfers will even play it.

I think what he means is it is a new set of personel doing the commentary this year. it is hard to get used to, but they do a great job.

I played it for several hours and had to change controllers because the batteries died

Really fun game, can't wait to get off of work and play some more. Right now Pebble Beach is kicking my butt.

Totally different games... Hot Shots is cartoony and fun.... Tiger is way more realistic and just as fun.... overall, theyre just different

More forgiving?? I hope not cuz Tiger 07 is way too easy. 08 was great with the controls being tough. It should be that way for tiger because its supposed to be more realistic, even though the whole spin thing is dumb. I play golf and those of you who do as well, know how hard the sport is...

Worse. Terribly boring and there is a big lag. The shot goes in and then 3 seconds later they make a comment on it. And yes they also make fun of you which can make you want to throw your controller

What really irritated me about 08 is that even before the golf ball hits the peak of its arc after you hit it, they know how crappy the shot is going to end up, even if the ball just barely rolls into the rough. Who can predict that in the first 25% of the shot?!? That aspect should be more realistic...

They only have natural spin this year from playing it several times. There is a real time swing meter. You can actually see if you are swinging straight or to the side. There is a Power, Accuracy, Short Game, and Putting stats to upgrade, but if you play not so great it will lower, but you get a chance to upgrade again with a side game from the coach.

Natural Spin, thats good. I just dont like how they make it easier. I heard you can also customize your clubs for sweet spots and such, which is dumb in my book. I also wouldnt be in favor of the real time swing meter. I guess my problem is that i play golf and want a game to be super realistic. The game Links for Xbox was fantastic, i guess ill have no choice with tiger, but I also havent played it yet so, im sure its good like they usually tend to be. I just find the games too easy when i get at least 10 under par every time...

I had a tough time at Wolf Creek. That is a tough course.

Very fun game Have been playing a few hours a day since Release(last TW I played was 05)...working on my PGA tour and tiger challenge. I tried the Daily Tournament once and was all happy with my 61. Then I took a look at the leader boards and see like 43 and shit so i was like ok not yet.

I like the club tuner and the attributes going up and down after each round. The gamernet challenges are fun as well.

I haven't played an On-line vs yet either...

Overall Soooo much happier with this purchase as oppose to madden

How does the final retail release compare to the demo that was released? I only got a chance to try the demo for about 10 minutes so far, so I wasn't able to get a decent impression of the game yet. I tried '07 and '08, but I didn't buy either one since they sorta sucked.

Has EA learned how to use anti-aliasing yet or prevent frame rate drops on 09? It looks pretty good, but I think I'll need to see a couple reviews before I'm comfortable enough purchasing it. How are the swing and putt mechanicst this year?
