I'm debating whether I should bother registering my onkyo 606 or polk rm6750 5.1 set...are there any benefits? Do warranties still apply if you do not register? I don't want to get useless emails etc registering for nothing...

Just register it. With Onkyo you can't get service unless it is registered and Bought from a authorized dealer.

I would register both, Polk speakers come with a 5 years warranty, I would just register both for the peace of mind.
