Default Mowing my Lawn

random story... great for "off-topic"

LONG STORY SHORT.....

Mowed my lawn, in my nice, very affluent neighborhood (our house is very modest, but the multi-million dollar homes are a stone's throw away, literally) and I'm going around a "Day-Lilly" patch in the grass near the end of the drive-way, and I mow over something LOUD...... I stop, look, and find a LOADED magazine for a 9mm (how ghetto I know) that someone apparantly threw in the "bush" in our front yard. It was spot-rusted, so it had been there for at least 3 or 4 days I'd guess.... there were 6 rounds or so in it (it's in my garage, I guess I could check) I've never lost a magazine for one of my hand guns along a roadside.... can't imagine how that would happen

Just wait til the day you have a drug dealer living in the neighborhood lead a police chase through your yard. I grew up in a well to do neighborhood and had that one happen once. He was a supplier and not an actual pusher, so could afford the nicer things in life.

I've lived in Cincinnati, and it's taught me one thing..... You don't call the police..... you just don't.

If it was involved in a crime, that's not my business.

Wow... it just goes to show that if it is from a crime, no neighborhood is safe from it.

Sorry to hear about that Beta Man, but it's better finding the magazine as opposed to bullet holes in your house, eh?

yeah! and we are moving eventually, after we paint the new place, get new appliances etc.... (get the keys Friday... can't wait) but it's only a mile or so away (we love our neighborhood) My one buddy summed it up the best, he said

"find that in Cincy, and it'd be funny.... find it up here, and that's just scary!"

Once lived in the same court as a drug dealer. My worry was that he lived in the second house from the end, and I lived in the second house from the (other) end. Any enemies probably would not have bothered to figure out which one, but would have shot randomly through the windows of both homes.

That is a pretty sad response, "if it was involved in a crime, that is not my business". How do you think you fix these problems if you ignore them? Definitely give it to the police, people need to take responsibility for their neighborhoods.

Who said I wanted to "Fix" anything? You can join your neighborhood watch if you want to..... I've got my own fire-arms, and alarm system...... Others should learn to protect themselves.

Wow, what a selfish and ignorant respose.

Tell me again how turning in part of a fire arm that was found randomly on your lawn not a way of protecting yourself and your neighborhood?

I was born and raised in Cincinnati and saw my fair share of "bad" things but he should call the police cause there's no telling what the missing ammo from that clip was used for.....

If you haven't been back, you should see all the stuff they've done to "revitalize" downtown, and "Newport-on-the-levee" which is Newport/Covington KY.

Three things I don't miss about Cincy

I miss the Adriatico's Pizza (they have one in Columbus I think.... but never been there) There's a Hofbrau house there now, and I also miss the UDF's I used to pick up a milkshake on my way to classes.....those were the days.
