Default Best Buy Reward Zone Certificates - BB being lazy?

as anyone who is a member of BB's reward zone (not the credit card, but store card that gets you points for purchases) knows, they now have the system in place where you have to print off your own certificates. i was a tad unhappy with this when i first heard of this (instead of just getting them mailed to me) but i don't really have an issue with it, but it just doesn't make a lot of sense as far as "customer service" goes i think.

as one of my friends said, "why do you have to waste your time, your paper, and your printer ink when you already spent money there to get money OFF of something you want to buy there? shouldn't they do this for you?"

and it does make sense.

now, i'm assuming they stopped mailing out the certificates because of cost and to help the environment and all, but why cant they just have a computer system that requires no printing off of anything?

if BB can look up your receipt number / purchases (if you're a RZ member) and whatnot, why can't, when at the register, tell them you want to use your certificate(s) and then press an "okay" button to register it?

still have the website up so you can see your points, but it does seem a bit low for a company to have you print off something you are being rewarded with. i actually have 2 friends who stopped their membership because they hate this system and didn't have a printer, so how are they to get their certificates?

i can't think of any other company that does this for a "rewards" program. i know there are coupon websites out there and whatnot that you have to print off to use, but am i alone in thinking BB could make this easier for everyone so we don't have to waste our paper, time and ink?
