Default I have No HDTV

Thats right, I am sans-HDTV and it SUCKS! Not only am I not getting the full Blu-ray experience, but I will be losing TV in February thanks to the switch over to digital. I know where I can find a nice 32" 1080i full HDTV for $200 used but I don't have the money. Maybe I should stop getting Blu-rays for the time being and save for that TV. What do you think?

My current TV is so old that Its not even cable ready. I have to run my PS3 through a S-Video->Coax converter box, then to a Coax->UHF box on the back of the TV.

Where should I go with this? I don't make much. I was lucky to find a PS3 for $100 with a faulty HDD (replaced with a 120gb one).

No, forget Blu Ray, it will be dead in a few months. You need D-VHS D-Theatre 1080i tapes. It's the way of the future thanks to JVC.

This so would be a great post if it was April 1st. Made me laugh though.

If this is not a joke, then I don't know what to say.

Why, in the world, would you be buying BD's if you don't have an HDTV????

Priority #1 - Buy HDTV
Priority #2 - Buy Blu-ray player (done, with your PS3)
Priority #3 - Buy AVR (not any good without priority 3a)
Priority #3a - Buy FL, C & FR speakers
Priority #3b - Buy subwoofer
Priority #3c - Buy surround speakers

You shouldn't be buying BD's until after #2

This is not a joke. this is for real. I was lucky to get a PS3 for cheap (I hadn't thought of getting one, but figured what the hell, an easy fix My original plan was to get a Wii with Brawl). I admit the Blu-rays look better than my DVDs on the TV.

Also I was told that next February when they switch to HD, they will start to phase out DVDs (if they haven't begun to do so), so I figured it would be nice to make the jump before I got behind.

$200 for 32'' 1080i HDTV isn't a bad deal at all and I'm sure you are resourceful enough to get it soon since you got a PS3 for $100.

BTW, 1080i isn't full HD, 1080p is (just clarification).

The February switch is to Digital broadcasts, not to exclusively HD programming.

Stop buying BD's... now!!!! Save and get the $200 HDTV or a $400-500 model at Wal-Mart, if your budget can handle it. No joke.

this guy just stated on another thread, that the 20GB PS3 could only output at 720p..... so I'm beginning to think he's just trying to stir the hornet's nest... or maybe not....

OP.... How many BDs do you have? Sell some, buy a T.V. then re-buy the movies when they're cheaper, or rent for awhile.

EDIT.... I just noticed you're running some nice equipment.... so you share in my love for audio.....

Yes at this point dude you should save for a decent HDTV! Continue to buy blu-rays to build a library for your new HD set!
