Default Bought The Magnavox!!!

After Ive Had Some Issues With My Samsung 1400, I Went Ahead And Purchased The Mag. Player At Wal-mart. Running It Hdmi To My Onkyo 705 I Tried 2 Movies. One With Dd Truehd And One With Dts-hd Mstr. Got To Admit, I Was Suprised That The Player Bitstreamed Both Formats For My Receiver To Decode, And Did It Correctly! That Was My Biggest Concern Since That Was My Reason When I Got The 1400. Its Not A Big Deal To Me, But I Will Check Out The 1.1 Profile. I Figure For $300.00 It May Outlast The Samsung. I Researched This Site Before I Bought It! If People Werent Saying It Bitstreamed The Lossless Audio, I Wouldnt Have Gave It A 2nd Thought.

UNFORTUNATELY NOT, THAT WAS BEFORE I CHECKED INTO THIS PLAYER FURTHER. I WAS LOOKING AT THE SAMSUNG 1500 EVEN THOUGH IM HAVING SHIT WITH THE 1400! INSANITY I GUESS! I ASKED ABOUT THE GIFT CARD ANYWAY, ALREADY KNOWING THE ANSWER. ONE THING THAT THREW ME WAS I ASKED HOW LONG I HAD TO RETURN IT AND A STORE MANAGER BASICALLY SAID INDEFINITELY. I DONT BELEIVE THAT CAUSE I COULD TAKE IT BACK IN A YEAR AND UPGRADE TO SOMETHING ELSE. MY GUESS IS 90 DAYS. THAT CAME FROM A MANAGER,WHO KNOWS!

I've had my eye on the Magnavox for a few weeks. Unfortunately, I missed the $100 gift card deal. Maybe another special promotion will happen elsewhere?
Like others have said, it seems like this unit has gotten slammed on other sites but the majority of folks here seem to like it. That is good to know.

Default WALMART/MAGNAVOX review

Hi,
Your WALMART warranty is indeed 90 days. The next 9 months you have to deal with MAGNAVOX for service. I bought the extended warranty which covers the 2 years AFTER year 1. I have a 65' Mitsubishi rear projection.I bought it about 6 years ago. I have had not one issue with it. The picture still looks great! I joined the BLU RAY generation even though I have no HDMI connection on my TV. Watched BLU RAY MI3 last night and the picture was just great. Afterwards,I tried the regular DVD of the same movie. I could see a minor/moderate difference. Picture looked "flatter" but crystal clear. I have heard that regular DVD's DO NOT improve through component jacks on BLU RAY but it looked pretty good to me.

at walmart as long as they carry the player, you can take it back...
walmart is really bad about checking into things, as long as you keep the box and don't throw away the padding and manuals, you can exchange it for the same thing.
They just have you sign a paper saying that you returned it with no reciept, this way they can track how many times you try to return things like that.

Either you accidentally left your caps lock on, or you have had waayy too much caffeine today

Congrats on your Magnavox player. I am starting to think this player is a very solid deal for somebody with a 1.3 receiver that decodes the lossless codecs.
