Any good ftp software I can use to transfer files to a website?

Cuteftp is asking $40.

Are there any free or less expensive options?

if you use Firefox, theres a simple free add-on called FireFTP. it does the trick for me just fine

I've always used scftp it allows secure ftp as well.

I've always used Filezilla. http://filezilla-project.org/download.php

Free, and very much like Cuteftp.
