Don't game too much...how many IR controllers can you play with at the same time on 1 playstation? Can I borrow a neighbors if I need more controllers?

I've plugged in 8 controllers on the PS3 (four of mine and four of a friends). The game has to support 8 people though. I used NCAA 07 (PS2)

They're blu(e)tooth not IR. and you can have 7 connected at one time.

EDIT: or 8 i think. 7 or 8

does it break the screen down into 8s???

i'd need a bigger tv if it does. 46" isn't going to cover it.

First of all, the game has to support 8. Most games only support 4 per screen. I used NCAA, so I had 4 people on each team, all on one screen.

I believe its actually 7. Which is really stupid because who wants to play with odd number of people...

You are correct, my mistake. The most important thing is that the game has to support that many. It says on the back of the case how many players it supports.

In theory you might be able to make it to 8 7 controllers on Bluetooth
one on USB. *if you use a adapter to turn a PS2 controller into USB device you can plug it into the PS3 and it will function like any other controller* Of course the game has to support 8 and still function with a ps2 controller.
