New PS3 update - Blu-ray Forum

Does anybody knows what new v1.51 update does.I didn't see any difference

I'm hoping it fixed the probs with 1.50. I'm going to BB today to pick up another movie... or two and hopefully it doesn't freeze.

If I read this right ....... it fixes playback problems w/ PS2 games? Maybe? Anyway, here's the link:

I don't think it fixed the problem, I had a complete freeze again last night playing Resistance after the update.

I played for months without a single problem but after one of the last updates I've been experiencing freezes often.

I don't have a problem at all with BD playback. Watched Crank yesterday from start to finish without a problem.

Someone at the forums said to try powering off the PS3 completely. That means to shut down the PS3 the proper way, through the XMB, and then flip the switch on the back.

The problem doesn't happen every time, just frequently. I've gone days without a problem and then have it happen several times during another session.

It never happened prior to one of the last updates though.

After I updated with 1.50, I had multiple occurrences per movie of the unasked for "pauses". Since the 1.51 update, I've had none/zero/nada. Most likely not a coincidence. Thanks Sony. Keep up the constant improvement. Just saw Full Metal Jacket in Bluray and it was gorgeous.

I still got a freeze today with 1.51 - and it wasn't with a Blu-Ray, it was with a regular DVD.

Has anyone seen something solid from Sony about this problem?

i have been getting little blackout screens, during movies and while playing games. and this is with the 1.51 update, any ideas what it would be from?
