Default Major Swerve Due For WWE's Night of Champions

Do not read if you dont want to be spoiled

[Show spoiler]Written by Richard Gray on Jun 27, 2008 - 3:20:48 PM

Before I post this I want it to be known that this is a rumor and is an idea that has been thrown around for Sunday's Night of Champions pay-per-view. It is by no means confirmed to happen as I do not know how far it has made it in the creative process; however, I have been told that it has been brought up. With that disclaimer, here is what I have heard:

There was talk as of yesterday afternoon about having Edge retain the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista at Sunday's Night of Champions pay-per-view. The swerve coming down from WWE creative would be for CM Punk to "cash in" his Money in the Bank title shot and defeat Edge for the title. This of course would bring the World Heavyweight Championship to the Raw brand.

From what I understand if it were to happen, CM Punk would probably not have a lengthy run as it would be more of a way to bring the title to Raw without making anyone look weak for the move to their respective brand. Again, take this for what it is worth right now as there is no way to confirm it as to happening. Plans change all of the time and this idea could have been nixed before it made its way up the creative ladder.

At least it wouldn't be completely predictable.

I'm expecting Triple H to lose to Cena, then beat Edge for the World title, giving him 1 more title win to get closer to Flair's 16 times.
