Default Underdog NOT Playing - Help! in 2007

I have a Pioneer Elite 95 the disc plays up the menu then just repeats. The menus do not work or move. Is anyone one else having this problem?

Do you have the latest firmware?

If so, it could be a bad disk.

Or, seeing as how it's a new disc, is one that is going to prompt a new firmware update across the board.

I have the BDP-S300 and have had the same problem. I traded the disc out today since there has been no major news about it, but same thing. I even reloaded the firmware, no luck. I have tried for about three hours total to try to find a backdoor to the movie, even using the scene selection. No luck. I cut the machine, tv, and receiver off and then found this thread. About half way through registering for this site, I looked over and saw the light on the player on. The timer was running, so I cut on the tv. The menu was back on where it had locked up before. For the hell of it I clicked up to Play Movie (for the 100th time) expecting nothing, but IT FINALLY WORKED!! Now I have to decide if I will stay up til 1AM watching the movie or turn it all off and hope for the best tomorrow. I think I will watch, because I may never get it to work again before the next firmware update.

Default No Luck!

Yes, I do have lasted firmware. It appears to be a BD-Java issue. And, yes I agree that a new firmware release for the each player will need to be release. If Disney had put an auto play in the disc after 3min or so, it would be non-issue.

This is a good thing...maybe your player is trying to tell you something. J/K...sorry for being an ass, but I have to take what I'm given.

My copy of Underdog came yesterday and I put it in my Samsung 1000 expecting it not to play. It took a while to load, got the colored balls loading, then a big red "U" on the screen that started rotating. Took about 3 minutes to finish rotating and then took me to the menu of the movie. It does play on the 1000, but takes forever to load.

I know my experience is no help to any of you having problems, but I thought I'd let you know it does take quite a while to load.

I'm sorry but this a complete joke. To think every time a new release comes out I have to flash the firmware is unacceptable. They need to do something else or the consumers like my parents will never buy into the format. I am getting sick and tired of having to do this. Maybe I am a minority here but this has to stop.

Underdog will prove the undoing of 1.1's new found success. I bet on HD DVD it totally would have run smoothely.

The 'Big Hurt' is now being felt by Blu-ray!

Why would it

it runs smoothly on the sharp bluray player, and loads in under 40 seconds

Unacceptable. When I have a hankering to watch Underdog, I expect Blu-ray to load the disc in 15 seconds. Quality titles deserve the best from firmware updates.

I have had zero problems with any releases on my PS3.

Having said that, I feel for those with stnadalone players who have and I completely agree that this needs to be fixed and soon. "Normal" consumers will not tolerate non-play or super slow load times.

Whenever anyone asks me for a recommendation on a player, I tell them for now, buy a PS3.

Just tried it out on my Panasonic 10 and after what seem endless previews the movie started to play with out any problems. The download time from the red U to the menu was like 20 seconds.
