Default I need some help on LCD

Ok, so I was planning on buying a Sammy LN46A650, but my brother said that 1080p is pointless because you cant tell a differance between 1080p and 720p. So I wanted to know if I will get the full benefit from 1080p if im sitting 3-5' from the TV.

I also want to know how screen size effects viewing distance. Please help me out, I really need to know. Thanks.

At your seating distance, you will see a marked difference.

Dont listen to your brother about any important issues, as he is willing to dispense false information to his own family.

The chart the other poster gave you CLEARLY SHOWS EXACTLY HOW SCREEN SIZE AND SEATING DISTANCE MATTER.

LOOK at the chart and if you dont understand it, ask for help.

46" at 3-5 feet is optimum.

Ahhh, so you've seen it at least 20 times and still have no idea how to read it. It pretty much says the further you sit away the bigger the screen has to be to make a difference. Also, it shows accurate seating distances and how screen size effects your perception on HD.

Maybe a calculator is more your speed?

You uh, might want to sit a little farther than 3-5' from your 46 inch TV. For health and image quality. I sit about 7 feet from my 32-inch, for example.

Actually, my 1st and 2nd posts were quite helpful. You're the one that called me an inconciderate *******. I will stop being helpful and not correct your spelling in this post.

"You're" looking for help.... here it is...
To answer your question..... although I wouldn't sit THAT close if I were you, you'll notice a difference in the fine detail, and the color difference shouldl be very noticeable as well, at least I see a difference in the 720 and 1080 sets side-by-side in the stores, but again, they calibrate etc.
