Exclamation WALL•E gets two thumbs up and rave reviews!

Caught it on TV just moments ago. Both reviewers giving two thumbs up on the sneak preview.

They admit the first 1/2 hour is virtually dialog free and may have the children squirming, but they gave high praise to Pixar who always do a job well done. They say ultimately both children and adults will be captivated.

Can't wait to see it, let alone own it!

Ok, so they got two eye balls up. I don't understand about the thumbs up. What happened? This better not be some more of that PC crap.

If you notice the show is owned/produced by Disney...

I don't disagree that Wall-E will be a good film, but when you hear them slag a movie and then give it a thumbs up sometimes it's Disney produced/distributed, thus take said review more on the dialog than the "thumb".

Huh? No. It's good old-fashioned $$$:

Roger Ebert's statement in response to a recent Disney press release:

I am discussing with Disney my association with the show that Gene Siskel and I started more than 30 years ago. In addition to my personal involvement, we are discussing the continued use of our Thumbs™ trademarks, owned by myself and the Siskel family.

Contrary to Disney’s press release, I did not demand the removal of the Thumbs™. They made a first offer on Friday which I considered offensively low. I responded with a counter-offer. They did not reply to this, and on Monday ordered the Thumbs™ removed from the show. This is not something I expected after an association of over 22 years. I had made it clear the Thumbs™ could remain during good-faith negotiations.

During my absence from the balcony, I have been excited to participate in the show in ways other than being on the set. I love the show and I love the Thumbs™ and I hope we will all be reunited soon.

Statement on Ebert's website

Apparently Ebert owns the "Thumbs Up" phrase and it can only be used when he's on the show.

EDIT: Oh I see the answer was added above. ^

People I work with just got back from a matinee showing of the movie. One of them, who's normally tough on movies (he didn't like Iron Man that much) thought it was the best movie Pixar has ever done. He just asked me if I wanted to go see it with him. Looks like I'm off to the movies!!

This is Pixar's best movie, and I loved it, and everything good said about the movie is true, and everything bad said about it is true as well, but it's good enough to get away with it.

I wouldn't expect anything less from Pixar. They have not produced a bad movie yet. My favorite is still Cars, followed by Ratatouille, Monsters Inc., and Finding Nemo. Even their worst movie, The Incredibles, is still, well ..., incredible.

Just like Ratatouille it gets rave reviews but I have little desire to see it. I think it will be great (just like Ratatouille) but I'll wait for the blu.

Just as a side note (and of course taking in account that you are probably only expressing your opinion), Cars, Bug's Life and Monsters Inc are generally considered to be in the lower tier of Pixar films, while Nemo, Ratatouille, Toy Story and The Incredibles are in the top tier
This is all relative of course, all of Pixar's films are excellent.

I have no doubt that Wall-E will join the top Tier this summer

RT: 52 reviews / 51 Fresh, 1 Rotten - 98% Fresh
The 1 bad review is getting a tremendous amount of hate
