First off thank you to Warner for ending the format war.
I was reading today on Digital Bits that when warner brother releases Speed Racer it is only going to have DD 5.1, I have one questionWHY? Unfortunately, we've confirmed that the Blu-ray is a BD-25 with just Dolby Digital 5.1 audio rather than TrueHD, which is a real shame. If ever a film deserved BD-50/TrueHD treatment on Blu-ray, it's this one. I suppose, however, in light of how badly the film tanked, it shouldn't be unexpected. In any case, we can also confirm that the Blu-ray will be a 3-disc set (though sadly, not as good as it sounds), including the BD disc and 2 DVD discs. Again, WHY? Blu Ray is able to get to layers on a Blu Ray "Didn't you get the memo" (Damn, I love that line) How the hell do we expect people to buy into Blu Ray when WB are still using legacy audio codec on new films. I have no problems with WB putting mono audio on Casablanca and The Adventures of Robin Hood. WB needs to get with the bloody progam! ![]() |
