I finally got around to watching Mr. Brooks. The end confused me a little...

I wish that they would have stayed with the "surprise" - but I still loved this movie. Feel it came in under the radar and is underappreciated.

No, he didnt die. His daughter suffers from what he did, its obvious since she killed the guy at college which is why she came home.

She has the same double side that Brooks does. I never listened to the audio commentary (if there was one) but I bet if there is, fast forward to the end and i bet they explain it

I understand that. It was never established in the movie if she enjoyed killing like he did. It was a worry of Earl's but it was never specifically clear.

great movie! yeh i would call this an, "under the radar" movie. the first time an ending has given me chills, and caused me to sit on the edge of my seat.

it was planned as a trilogy but it bombed so that may never be answered.

Actually a very good thriller/horror, I would say it was more thriller than horror, but there is some aspects to it which give it a horror feel.

I thought it was a great movie and very underrated, it never got the attention it deserved, I enjoyed every moment of it and would deffinately want it on Blu-Ray.

I bought this as a blind buy. I am glad I did. The OP brings up a good question. I'll need to see it again to see what I pick up.

I actually just finished watching this (saw it in the theaters as well) . . . I didn't get the impression at all that he kills his daughter. As has been mentioned, this was planned to be part of a trilogy, and I think the ending is just showing you that he'll never really be rid of his problem.

I thought he killed her but I guess it really leaves it open. I took it as he knew what she did and he had to stop her becoming like him. A sequel would be interesting if they can get a good script. I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed this movie.

This WAS a great movie, and that is in spite of the terrible acting from Dane Cook. Costner and Hurt were incredible. This movie was even better becuase I got it for $9.99 at Fry's sale a few months ago.

I would agree with your post. Dane Cook is a very bad actor, and he was unsucessfull in his role. Very good movie!
