Default The Man In the Iron Mask

Anyone picking this one up Tuesday? I always loved it, and have it on the way from Amazon. Great actors in this one. Now hopefully "The Count of Monte Cristo" will be released soon.

Not until it get cheaper. I'd like to see Disney's "Three Musketeers" on BD someday.

Lincoln, LOVE the avatar.

Actually, I have this movie on DVD. I got it for free after eating 5 boxes of Cracklin' Oat Bran and sending in the box tops. It was fun to watch until you get to the part where we see Gerard Depardieu's middle aged butt crack. It was like watching 2 hams squeezed on either side of a deli slicer. ... Ok, now I have to try and forget that mental image.

In any case, that is more than enough reason to .... PASS!

I enjoyed this film for John Malkovich's character.

And for those interested, John is from a very small town in southern Illinois near my home town, called Christopher, which is kind of a duel city with Benton. Christopher is about 5 miles west of Benton, but Christopher students go to school in Benton. (Exit 71 on I-57, if you do a Google Map search). If you've seen In the Line of Fire, there was once scene where Clint Eastwood and the feds were looking through pictures of Malkovich (as the villain) when he was young and whatnot, and one pic was of John in his Benton HS football uniform. And it's a real picture. "He later moved to Chicago to form his own acting school along with other actors of his generation, one being Gary Sinese.

But the very interesting thing is that we here in our town know his cousin. She was or still is a teacher in our school district, (I don't know if she's retired yet or not.) Her maiden name was indeed Malkovich and her son used to go visit John all the time. The funny thing is that he is in real life as he portrays his characters in his films. ie. kind of creepy.

Its a enjoyable movie to me, but not at full price. I'll probably skip until it hits the bargain bin.

I have friends who love this movie, and I just can't get into it. I don't need constant action to keep me interested, but this movie needed more action, because the slow scenes were not keeping my attention.
