LCD samsung. Sony use the samsung panels for the bravia tv's, So the fact that they are the same screen, and samsung are cheaper i think that makes a difference.

Pioneer, followed closely by Panasonic.

I don't understand why Sony (so far) rates so highly on this list. They use LCD, for crying out loud, so they're at a huge disadvantage already.

IMHO, no LCD TV deserves to be considered the "best". And I have two of 'em (Sharp Aquos). A Pioneer (or maybe Panasonic) plasma TV is in my future, but there's no way I'd buy another LCD TV.

JVC. They pioneered 120Hz motion frame interpolation and they have the best video processing, hands down.

Samsung is the best LCD, hands down, looks far better then any sony xbr. also samsungs are very well priced

plasma goes to pioneer with panasonic in 2nd, leaning towards panasonic since pioneer is way to overpriced.

no projection can compare to the flat panels and im surprised their still barely hanging in there, but samsung.

i'll make a list of the most overrated

these tv's are just plain bad and i dont understand why they have a following:
sharp
jvc
olevia (the worst)
pre-2007 vizios
toshiba

all of these tv's do a TERRIBLE job at producing black levels, especially sharps. I dont care what the advertised contrast ratio is, they are false. a sharp aquos 62 or 64 series does one thing well, which is make the color dark purple, since its the closest it can come to black

You want FRIES with that?
I think you need less alcohol with that.

But I agree with the main bullet point of the above non-sensical ramble.

Pioneer plasma = #1.

/thread end

((although I love Panasonic plasmas as well and Philips has the best customer service existent))

Oh...on topic: For the price I think that Panasonic has the best flat panels. Price aside.....it's all about Pioneer. Plasma...FTW!

What is sad is that these results don't surprise me.

I weep for black levels everywhere.

I was wondering this myself. Looks like I'm going to have to try and get myself that Plasma everyone is raving about! I usually just use my best friends Sony Bravia. Looks great I think but this plasma sounds amazing. Thanks for the input guys! Helped me out a lot!
