Default Traffic - Jan. 13th

I've been waiting for this movie for a while, first day buy, although I think this is a film that might have benefited from the graininess of dvd.

Just to let you know, this is an import, not a U.S. release from Universal.

Do you know where it's being imported from?

Not sure.

But on Amazon when a BD is more expensive than usual, and the studio is listed as "101 Distribution", it's an import.

lol. The director did not shoot this film in 480i quality. What you will get on the Blu-ray disc is far closer to what was intended.

DVD isn't about graininess, it's about artifacting and macro-blocking.

But, that's not the topic at hand.

Why does Germany always have better releases? Traffic, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club just to name a few. Pisses me off

Crap "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" instantly filled my head...... I doubt I'll double-dip the Film "Traffic" though

Watch out if you want to view the extras as they are in 576i50 so you will need a compatible player / display. (A Region A PS3 will not play the extras)

Traffic was also recently released in Brazil. From what I hear, it doesn't have lossless audio though.

You just don't pay attention to which movies they don't get.

Only if they still have the rights to it. It's very possible that they don't.

Is there any place you can research to see if they still have the rights to Traffic?

Universal better not re-release this as an upscaled DVD as they did with the HD DVD.

Nope. It all depends on what their original contract said. It's been over 10 years since the DVD release, no? That might not be a good sign.
