Alright! So a while back I posted I was having issues with Black levels on the player and I've discovered the problem!!! If you are using an HDMI-DVI connection, you're supposed to set the RGB (I think that's what it's called) to 15-235. If you set it to 0-255, it wont display all levels of black...
HERE'S THE PROBLEM! If you set it to 15-235, it's fine. HOWEVER, if you turn off the player, it will switch back to 0-255 without you knowing about it! It will still say 15-235 is selected, however it's not. The easiest way to try that out is try switching to the 0-255. The screen wont drop out like it should because it's switching the output. But it will if you reselect 15-235. HA! I finally figured out what was wrong! Anywho, any news on Sony fixing this? |
