A young boy watches his parents killed by a thief in a Santa suit. He spends his youth in an orphanage, staying quietly to his self, but his mind is further bent by an ironhanded Mother Superior. He finally gets a job at a local store, where he finally snaps when he is required to wear a Santa suit, and goes on a killing spree that leads him slowly back to the orphanage.

I'm not sure but it seems like I remember hearing when they did a screening of the remastered version recently that it was the R-rated version.

I was under the impression that it WAS the Unrated version that was re-released and that it just was branded as "Rated R".

Regardless, I hope its the unrated cut that's presented on the bluray.

I read that too. I wouldn't mind too much if they offered the additional scenes (unrestored if need be) via seamless branching.

Same here and hopefully the old extras are all ported over. It's not too far away from coming out so hopefully it won't be too long before we get some details.

Holy Shite! Im all over this. I havent owned a copy of this movie since i had it on VHS in '88. Sept 16 is gearing up to be a hell of a release day.

Great news! But honestly i'm hoping it's the R rated cut mostly because those uncut scenes looked awful on the DVD, so unless they're remastered that's cool but otherwise, leave them out.

Awesome! I finally got to see this infamous flick a couple years ago, and I was really impressed. To me, it was more of a psychological horror flick than just a straight-forward slasher. I actually found it really compelling. I bought the last DVD re-release the day it came out so that I didn't risk it going OOP again.

I'll echo others' sentiments, too, and hope it's the uncut version. I've never seen the cut version, but with the noticeable quality changes on the DVD (which aren't really that bad) telling me what all the cut footage was, I can't imagine watching the edited R-rated version.

And I'm glad it's not a double feature with SNDN2. That's one of the worst excuses for a movie I've ever seen, and it should be locked away forever. It's not even so bad it's good. It's so bad it's just plain bad.

Just Pre Ordered this and TCM 40th Anniversary Edition. Cant wait I love both films.
