It also appears that ALL of the Bond films are ready.

To the experts on here - Could this so-called restoration she was talking about be for the DVD re-release back in May or no?

That's what I was thinking as they did create HD masters which were downrezzed to DVD. However, maybe they re-did them for Blu-ray. Would love to hear from an insider on the issue.

She's talking about the restoration Lowry did in 2003 for the release on DVD.

I think Wicky and Max confirmed they are coming this year.
I also always found weird the way Bill Hunt talks about those titles. He seems to know stuff Paramount asked him not to say...

This ain't happening. It's probably Lowry and I'm doubting they "let it slip." It's a fact. She's running with a theory.

From what I was told, there's about a 5% chance it's happening.

Yeah, Lowry (now DTS) did the restoration for Bond... and Indy. I thought that was known, so I'm with you that they didn't let anything slip.

As for a BD release of the the first three, that's still an open debate, and I won't say anything else...

Why would she be talking about a 2003 restoration?

I don't see them releasing part 4 by itself. I'm thinking all of the Indy films will be released together. Will it happen this year? Time will tell.

Who knows? Why is she theorizing about something? Probably to get people talking like we are. All they did was mention they did an Indy restoration. We don't know what context it was said in.

She decided to then write a column saying it must be for a Blu-Ray release...without any proof of that being a legitimate theory.

And here we are...

An Indiana Jones Boxset would be great. However, I doubt that anyone or any website has inside information at this time.

One hopes a magazine editor, in discussing (and subsequently writing about) high def remasting of Bond with the responsible company, has enough context to distinguish between a 5 year old remastering vs something more recent.

We'll see.

Indy has had work done to it recently, but so have many other Paramount titles, many of whom possibly won't be out even by this time next year. The same goes for MGM and Bond, and for many other titles from many other studios. Everyone is going through their libraries to see what tapes are up to snuff and what needs to be redone

Paramount wants it, Lucasfilm has not decided one way or the other as of yet. It remains, and for the immediate future- Indy 4 probably, Indy 1-3 50/50
