Default new to ps3

What is a good starting game that I could purchase that won't cost me a pretty penny that is enjoyable? Maybe something simple, def. into sports games? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The cars are REALLY fast. Even the crappy car you start with is fast as hell. The cars aren't based off of real cars though. Burnout is even better after the update for custom soundtracks

It's a great game and a terrific value. It got like a 9 on Gamespot also

Burnout Series has never been about using real car companys etc. The makers said they like creating their own engine sounds and mixing them aside from everything else they did..

Go to the Playstation Store and you'll see a section for demos where you can download them. Are you signed up on the Playstation Network?

(There's a Burnout Paradise demo if you want to try it )

Well, I dont own it, but I really want NBA 2K8, its cheaper than NBA 08 and NBA Live 08, and its got my favorite player (Chris Paul) on the cover! Its about $30.

Also, I loved Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, I got it for my xbox 360 (before I saw the light and got a PS3), but it was just awesome, I was addicted for many months. Its less like FInal Fantasy and more like GTA with swords, spells, and trolls, at least thats how I think of it. The game of the year edition is $50-60, but the regular version is about $30, you can probably get it cheaper used.

Get PAIN! from the Playstation network it's hours of inexpensive - mindless fun. But if u want a great game that still amazes me get Grand Theft Auto IV.

GTA IV is pretty much going to be $60 anywhere unless you get it used.

This should help you getting online

I really appreciate the help with the games and also online...i will have to read that over tonight and hook it up first thing tomorrow morning if it is indeed a long process. Thanks again!

Anyone, are any of the baseball games easy to play/a good time? What about football?

If you peruse the trading forum here on the site you might be able to find it for as low as 40 dollars shipped. Used, of course.

MLB 08: The Show is pretty good. And NCAA 09 comes out this week

Well MLB 08 The Show is the best baseball game on the next-gen systems.

NCAA 09 comes out this Tuesday and and Madden 09 about a month from now. You can go with last year's versions that are cheaper, but they both are inferior products compared to what 09 will be.

MLB: the show sounds great! Do they have a lot of used games for ps3 at gamestop?

They do, but odds are you are going to end up paying about 50-55 dollars for a used game there.

If you can buy over the internet here is a new copy for 50 dollars.
