Default I'm glad they've started removing the silver around Lionsgate BD covers

I finally just bought American Psycho without the silver borders/spine.

It's so ugly with that silver there. Especially on the spine.

I liked the silver spine. Now it sucks having all these silver spined titles mixed with new releases. I kinda hate how Lionsgate stop providing artwork on the inside cover as well. Thought that was a neat little touch

The silver spine I didn't think of either way.

However, I did like the artwork on the inside of the cover. I thought that was a cool touch too. I wish they'd keep doing that.

I liked the silver on the spine. It made the Lionsgate movies really stick out.

Ive noticed that ever since Blu-Ray won the format war and has started to become a big thing, studios have stopped with the fancier stuff. Lionsgate stopped with the inside artwork. Universal stopped with actual disc artwork.

Do any studios have consistently good art design anymore on their Blu-ray covers? Most seem like Photoshopped hack jobs, done by graphic artists with no experience. The trend has accelerated on Blu-ray, even worse than what happened on DVD.

Especially Paramount/Dreamworks. The new art for Minority Report and Collateral? WTF.

At least Road To Perditions arent was messed up that badly. Although the UK looked better.

I hunt down for the original copies with the holo covers. Returned a movie when I found out I had the edited version without the holo cover.

Not a fan of the style they used, and I am glad it's gone.

Most of the movies I have the silver blends in with the coverart so I never really noticed. But with American Psycho it always stuck out to me. I was wondering why Saw V and VI were different than the first four. Otherwise I like the silver spines

I'd say Criterion covers are constantly good. A few duds, but pretty solid over all. But then again, it is Criterion... they're special.

I would have to concur that Criterion still shows great graphic design on their cases. Thankfully they learned the error of their ways and switched to plastic cases.

It's interesting that one has the Marvel logo and throws off the set.
