Default 2 by Ken Loach: Riff-Raff / Raining Stones

Loves these 2 UK films! Only release date for USA, none for UK as yet!

Looks like an exclusive from Screen Archives Entertainment, if I order it's going to a gamble!

These are being released by Twilight Time as a "double feature." Check out the first post in the sticky'd Twilight Time thread for more info on ordering their product through Screen Archives.

Thanks for the info. Just checked, $39.95 delivered to the UK! bit pricey really!

It's weird this is debuting on blu-ray in US first, but, then again, Nick Redman is an Englishman in LA, so no surprise there.

Yeah, Twilight Time titles have ranged from $25-35 retail apiece, and Screen Archives doesn't offer free shipping on large offers. That said, TT releases a lot of interesting films, and I'm happy with each disc of theirs I've bought. If there's a title I'm uncertain about, I usually wait for some reviews, esp. re: PQ and AQ, before taking the plunge.

On a somewhat related note, I was very happy with their Rita, Sue, and Bob Too disc.

I was going to ask what experiences have people had with their releases!

Do these sort of releases ever get reviewed?

I don't mind paying if it is good, I wouldn't be so bothered if it wasn't so pricey importing these releases!

Here's hoping many more will follow...ie...The Wind That Shakes The Barley, Ae Fond Kiss

Always loved the films of his I've seen and had a bit of respect for him turning down an OBE

They do get reviewed--in the original post of the TT thread, click on the image for the disc cover to jump to the individual page for that release, where in most cases you will be able to click on a tab for a reviewer from this site's take on the disc, as well as feedback from other buyers on the site.

Don't expect Criterion level extras or a label that can commission new transfers. What you'd be paying for is a boutique label that has put a lot of thought into curation, and in most cases has selected an attractive master from the licenser.

I was interested but the lack of subtitles ruled this out for me (I ended up canceling my pre-order).

Accents are so thick that I can't watch this without subs, so I'll have to download them and remux. I don't understand why they didn't bother to include them in the first place. Twilight Time includes them on almost all their releases and this one needs them more than any of them except the two foreign language titles.
