Default Need help

I need help finding a reciever that will do all the audio's that bluray is putting out. Dolby TrueHD,DTS HD 5.1, PCM 5.1 uncompressed, 5.1 uncompressed, 7.1 pcm audio. Im using the PS3 as my bluray player and don't plan on getting a stand alone player anytime soon.

Im using samsung speakers which are little samsungs from my previous souround sound system and they are 3 ohms independece. Plan on getting different speakers in the future but not too soon. What would you guys recomend? I really get confused with all this audio stuff, it makes my head spin lol. So im just asking straight out.

I know alot of people here are using onkyo recievers. I saw a sony STRDG720 at best buy for $299. Says it does 7.1, 3 hdmi inputs and 1 out, 8 ohms, supports 8 ch linear pcm, and 24p True cinema (whatevert that means) lol It says nothing about True hd or DTS HD though is it capable of those two? Is that a reputable reciever? I really don't have the funds to spend $600-1000. Is there any thing in the $300 to $400 ish price range that can do the job done? Thanks

If it handles LPCM it'll work fine with DTS MA and TrueHD, as long as you have a player that has internal decoding, which the PS3 does. If you ever upgrade your player, you would have to replace the PS3 with another player that decodes TrueHD and DTS MA.

Whats DTS MA? Is that the same as DTS HD? So the I figure the speakers are too much. Whats the average speaker you would want? 4 ohm indepence? So basically if the reciever is stamped DTS HD and Dolby HD on it that means that the reciever will decode it if the player does'nt? and the receiver that im looking into will support it but the Bluray player has to decode it?

Dts as pulled a fast one on consumers...

Dts-HD can be one of two things...

Dts-HD High Resolution
Dts-HD Master

Dts-HD Master is the better of the two.

Home theater speakers are typically 8 ohm.
