Yes, 6 was originally released here on the SNES as FF3. Since then though, its been retitled back to the original 6.

Starting an FF thread just when the FF fanbase is in a gloomy state huh AliceT. It burns.

For me, too hard to decide since I pretty much like almost all of it.

Final Fantasy 8 hands down. I don't know what it is about that game, but I keep playing it over and over. I just kept getting driven nuts by not being able to use my higher magic because it was attached to my skills/stats.

Only one I ever played was 3 for the Genesis. It was the longest game ever. It was alright.

final fantasy 4 for me. the story of the dark knight turned paladin is the most memorable story for me. too bad they only remade it for nintendo DS and not for ps3. dam you square!

My question is though, where is FFT, FFTA, FFTA2? Those are Final Fantasy games, and I would rank tactics above some of the other FF games.

Final Fantasy 7 was the first game that made me realize how involved a video game could be. Suddenly, I saw video games in a completely different light. I conclusively say that not only is Final Fantasy 7 my favourite in the series, but it is still my favourite of ALL 10 consoles and ALL PC games that I have ever owned.

It is #1 on my all time favourite video game list... right above Super Mario 3

Just kidding about Mario.

FF7 is my favorite game of all time for any system. I put FF Tactics right behind it though, that game was incredible as well. I beat it three times, on the third go-round, my main character was powerful enough to kill the last boss by himself with one turn.

FF 8 by far! As soon as i popped it in my PS i was hooked from the opening cinematic and the music was awesome. Great game.

Yeah, but nothing beats the opera music when you battle Sephiroth for the last time in FF7. I remember thinking "wow, I can't believe a video game has music like this!"

7 got me into the series, but 10 was my favorite. I enjoyed everything about 10. Even the score was breathtaking.

I can't believe that anyone actually picked this as their favorite FF game. This was pretty much the first FF game I played and it almost turned me off to the series completely. The translation was absolutely appalling, not to mention completely insulting; apparently whoever translated it thinks Americans are complete morons, with every character going around saying "gonna" and "wanna" and other nonsense (even the headmaster of the academy and a woman who is supposed to be one of the top instructors). Not to mention every character acted like a spoiled brat, a prick, or had some other obnoxious trait. I actually bought the strategy guide so I could still play the game without having to actually read through the horrible dialog. It was especially disappointing since I made my mother get me this for Christmas.

I never owned a PS2 but I did pick up FF 12 once I got a PS3. Thankfully, that game cleared out much of the bad taste 8 left in my mouth.
