Default 120hz HDMI?

Alright before you all start bashing me, just know i have never heard of this until today. I use monoprice cables. anyway, I was telling my co-worker today i have a 32'' 120hz Panny, but i really cant see the difference. and he has a 40'' 71F series 120hz sammy. And he's like "Bro, did you get the 120hz cable?" and im like"". He's like "yeah bro, i couldn't see a difference in the 120hz either until i bought this cable. now it looks like it did in the store." and im like ", yeah right." so then he sent me this link and sure enough it said the cable had a higher bandwidth ideal for 120hz TV's. is this cable really gonna show a difference in my 120hz or is this guy on Monster's payroll. please help before he sways me to the dark side. <him, me>:

Buy the Monster J-series. They cost $500, but they were blessed by Jesus, so they are really good.

the guy is trying to justify wasting that much on a HDMI cable. its a marketing gimmick, this has been discussed before.

If having that cable will give you piece of mind and will eventually buy it anyway. Atleast buy it from Amazon.com. They have their warehouse deals and the price is alot lower. $62.85 for the 2meter. fullfillment by amazon. if you have prime you still get the 2 day free shipping and no tax on warehouse deals.

nah, i dont think so. i just did a little research on Cnet.com.http://reviews.cnet.com/5420-6449_7-...hreadID=230205.

I feel ashamed i even listened to that guy for more than 5 seconds. Mod please close this thread and then delete it and then burn the remains and then flash me with that thing from Men in Black to make me forget i even opened this thread.

The source isn't outputting 120hz, that should be the first thing to realize that the person has absolutely no idea what he is talking about.

No need to go further from there with him. Telling him that fact alone might cause his melon to implode even more.

edit:
Now if there were blu-ray's, video games, pc's that could render and output 120fps and the tv could accept them and display 120fps, it would be awesome

Heck I'd be happy if the native source for a blu-ray movie was more than 24fps, 48fps movies at iMax are much smoother. Of course 24fps is the archaic standard..

Granted Best Buy is overpriced and you can find better deals at Fry's, etc.

My original post was based on the $500 Monster J cable.....I personally can't see the justification for spending that kind of money on a cable....ANY cable, unless you have like a $3,000 TV or something.

IMO...cabling and speaker wire should consist of roughly 15% of your componant cost (TV, Receiver, Speakers). But that is just my opinion.
