Default The Daparted

Lots of stupid questions, so brace yourself.

Well, since my PS3 should be coming in a couple of days after my gamestop order, I wanted to buy my first Blu-Ray movie. Now The Departed seems like it's critically aclaimed and great. It seems like a good choice. I have a few q.

1)Does it really show the Blu-ray's capabilities like let's say Crank? Does it really look beautiful, perhaps more beautiful than most other Blu-rays?

2)Is the movie itself good, is it more action or more plot?

3)Is it a rental or a buy? I'm NOT a DVD collector(though I was a heavy VHS collector, mostly kid's movies though lol). I like to watch movies many times over as I did to blade, shrek and so forth. How good is it in terms of watching over and over again? Does it have that 'suck in' factor that makes you want to wath it many times over? I mean I wouldn't want to watch some sad ass drama more than once, on other hand I'd like to see fifth element more than once.

4) If you wathed the movie, Blu-Ray or not, what are some cons and pros? Don't spoil anything though.

5) WIll it play 720 on a 720 lcd or will it go down to 480(-__-)?

6)Please answer all the qs.lol Thanks, I'll be glad to join the Blu-Ray family.
